Dresser Renovation

This dresser has been sitting in my garage since we moved into our new house.  It is very special to me because my brother gave it to me years ago.  He passed away a year and a half ago from cancer.  I knew I wanted to use the dresser again, but I wasn't sure where or what I was going to do with it.

Here is what it looked like before.

I knew I wanted to paint it, but I wanted to leave the original wood pieces the same color.  I just wanted to get rid of the green.  I got out the painters tape and got to work.

I decided on a dark brown called Davenport Tan from Benjamin Moore.

I prepared the area for painting.

 And.....I got to work!

I got rid of the green knobs and chose some antique brass colored ones instead.

I decided I would try some fancy one for the cupboards.

 I painted 2 coats.

Then I brought it in the house to dry overnight.  Looks great so far!

We brought the dresser upstairs to the bedroom and my husband put the cupboard doors back on.  Then I used it to store all of the cable boxes and our DVD player.

Another view of the dresser in our bedroom.
